The Yardley Refillery is a low-waste retail shop where locals can visit to get everything they need at an affordable price while protecting the environment, reports Bob Kelly for Fox 29 Philadelphia.
The refillery’s motto is “Refill, not the landfill.” Locals can bring reusable containers and bags and fill them with the various personal care, household and pantry goods the store offers.
First, you weigh your container and use one of the available smart tags to keep track of its weight. Then you’re free to peruse their wide selection of products. Once you’re finished, your items are priced by weight at the register.
The refillery has everything, including beans, granola, coffee, nuts, kombucha, toothpaste tabs, organic fungicide, all-purpose cleaner, candy and more.
Their laundry bar has both powdered detergent and detergent pods. Customers can also get liquid detergent from their large drums.
The store recently added an essential oil bar that complements their other personal care items, like cream deodorant, body wash, shampoo and bars of soap.
The refillery has become a local favorite for those looking to help reduce waste.
