The plans are set to keep the canal vibrant and well-maintained for the next decade.

A Bucks County writer recently took a bike ride through the whole Delaware Canal Towpath, making a few fun stops on the way. Brittany Brown wrote about her outdoor adventure for Visit Bucks County.

Brown, known for her local travel blog Britt Around Town, recently undertook the Delaware Canal State Park Challenge, where she rode through the towpath over the course of two days. The 60 mile ride took her to several local towns, where she continued her signature reporting on unique spots in Bucks County.

Over the course of two days in mid-July, Brown made stops at landmarks and shops in Riegelsville, Upper Black Eddy, Tinicum, Lumberville, New Hope, Washington Crossing, Yardley, Morrisville, and Bristol. All of these towns have the long towpath running on their edges.

“I cannot believe I just biked the entire length of my beautiful home…our beautiful Bucks County,” Brown said at the end of her scenic journey.
