Energy Transfer has awarded a $20,000 grant from its First Responder Fund to the Lower Chichester Police Department to purchase body cameras.

Energy Transfer is one of the largest and most diversified energy logistics companies in the country, with nearly 3,000 miles of pipeline infrastructure and gathering systems located in Pennsylvania. Energy Transfer also operates the Marcus Hook Industrial Complex, a natural gas liquids (NGLs) processing facility.

“Energy Transfer is part of the Lower Chichester community, and we are grateful for their support for our first responders over the past few years through equipment grants and trainings,” said Thomas Gaspari, Lower Chichester’s Chief of Police. “These grants make a huge difference in our ability to protect and serve our communities.”

The Energy Transfer First Responder Fund provides grants to help further the primary mission of first responder organizations, including local fire departments; emergency medical services; county emergency management agencies; county, regional, and local police departments; and other eligible agencies.

Grants are determined based on a competitive application and review process, and written applications are accepted on a rolling basis for the following cycle.

Over the past several years, Energy Transfer has also awarded several grants to the Lower Chichester Volunteer Fire Department, helping to fund a new bunk house and locker room at the fire house, as well as 10 sets of turnout gear for firefighters.

“We are honored to provide this grant and proud to be a consistent thread in this community, going back to our legacy Sunoco days,” said Joe McGinn, Vice President of Public Affairs at Energy Transfer. “When it comes to community safety, we are all in this together. We look forward to playing our part in keeping Lower Chichester safe and secure for years to come.”
