Maxwell’s On Main in Doylestown has transformed the first-floor dining room of its historic two-level venue into a vibrant, modern space, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The space, formerly dominated by moody Victorian booth seating, is now dynamic and offers more options for enjoying fall gatherings.
Dimensional Contractors carried out renovations from February through June 2025. The centerpiece of the redesign is the new full-service bar, which now includes a raw bar concept.
“We wanted to shake up this room and provide a new kind of casual and versatile dining experience for our guests,” said Nathan Hugill, co-owner of Maxwell’s On Main.
Maxwell’s On Main, in partnership with Indian Ridge Provisions, is one of the only spots that serves oysters in Doylestown.
Bartender Kevin Creedon has also introduced a seasonal range of non-alcoholic draft cocktails, each of which can be spiked with a spirit of your choice. Alice’s Cider, for example, includes cranberry, dried apple, citrus peel, demerara baking spices, juniper, sage, and both California and ancho chilies.
The redesigned downstairs space is also available for private holiday parties, and the brickwall ballroom upstairs can be reserved for the same purpose.
