Doylestown Township marked a significant milestone with the topping-off ceremony for its new Community Recreation Center, a part of the $13 million Central Park Improvement Project, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
The center, located in the heart of Central Park, is set to become a hub for community activities, featuring an 18,000-square-foot facility with an indoor gymnasium, multipurpose rooms, and an indoor/outdoor patio.
In addition to the recreation center, the project will introduce new athletic courts, including basketball, tennis, and bocce ball courts.
The project has already raised $2.25 million towards its $3 million fundraising goal, with donations and sponsorships still being sought. State Senator Steve Santarsiero, who secured a $1.5 million state grant for the project, joined local officials in celebrating the progress.
As Doylestown Township continues to advance this transformative project, the new recreation center is poised to become a vital gathering place for residents of all ages.
