Prom-Dress Collection to Take Place in Doylestown, Perkasie This Week

On Feb. 21, Kelly Laustsen and Jennifer DeLawter are hosting their second prom dress collection, helping high school girls find dresses.

Two Bucks County women are holding their second prom dress and formal wear accessories collection on Feb. 21, helping local students prep for their big dance, writes staff for TAPinto Doylestown.

Florist Kelly Laustsen, who owns Bloom Flower Co. in Perkasie, has teamed up with Jennifer DeLawter from Doylestown’s Keller Williams Real Estate for the drive.

“I knew that girls in our area would benefit from something like this,” said Laustsen. “With the cost of groceries and everyday necessities going up, we feel like many families could use a little extra support.”

Last year, 50 high school girls found their prom dresses at the drive. Students from Pennridge, Souderton, and Central Bucks, along with homeschoolers, were able to get their dresses for free.

This year, donations will be accepted from 10 AM to 12 PM at the Keller Williams office in Doylestown.

Dresses can also be dropped off at En Arabesque Dancewear in Perkasie and Doylestown during both locations’ hours.

“Kelly and I are happy to make arrangements at alternative times and dates,” DeLawter added. “The more dresses that we collect, the more girls we can help.”

The “shopping” event will take place in the En Arabesque store in Perkasie on March 7.
