Bensalem’s Jeff Skversky Returns to Philly TV News with New Fox 29 Gig

Bensalem native Jeff Skversky, former Philly TV news anchor, is returning to local television with a new job at Fox 29.

Jeff Skversky, a Bensalem native and former Philly TV news anchor, is returning to local television with a new gig on Fox 29, writes Nick Vadala for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

In a social media post, Skversky described the move as a “full-circle moment,” recalling how he began his career in Philly TV covering the Phillies’ 2008 World Series on the same station.

Skversky will be a freelance news and sports reporter and has already been a contributor to the station’s The Phantastic Sports Show for the last year.

Skversky had been a regular face on 6abc broadcasts for about 13 years as a sports anchor before essentially disappearing in 2021.

He spent the following year posting about Philly sports and on telecasts for area college and high school games. In September 2022, he officially confirmed he had left 6abc.

“It was always my dream to be a sportscaster in my hometown of Philadelphia & cover teams I grew up rooting for,” he wrote in 2022. “While it’s hard to say goodbye, happy to share my next career move soon.”

He joined CBS News Detroit in early 2023, but Philadelphia eventually drew him back home.
