Flourish Cafe in Newtown will be launching its new “Friday Nights Live” event this fall, with cabaret-style performances once a month, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.
This event comes from a partnership between the cafe and On Demand! Programs and Events.
While guests enjoy their meals, On Demand! performers will be providing entertainment in the form of jazz, rock, pop, singer-songwriters and more.
“The 3,000 square foot spacious layout and ambience is ideal for creating an entertainment space for the community,” said Natalie Kaye, On Demand’s founder.
The first event will take place on Nov. 7 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM. Avi Wisnia, an award-winning singer-songwriter and piano player, will be performing.
“The intimate concert will pay tribute to the most famous piano-pop performers of our time,” said Kaye. “With his smooth vocals and dynamic artistry, Avi interprets the catalogs from beloved icons who have made the piano sing, from Billy Joel to Stevie Wonder, Carole King to Norah Jones, Elton John to Marc Cohn.”
Tickets are available for $25 and reservations are strongly encouraged.
The next event will take place on Dec. 5, featuring festive holiday classics and Christmas hymns sung by Maggie Griffin-Smith.
