Stage United to Host Concerts in Doylestown and Newtown, Including Two This Weekend

The nonprofit organization Stage United has scheduled several musical events in Newtown and Doylestown in the coming weeks for locals to enjoy.

Stage United, the nonprofit dedicated to offering live music experiences, is presenting four concerts in Doylestown and Newtown, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

On Friday, Sept. 26, SPEAKeasy will be taking place at ArtWRKD on South State Street in Newtown. Beginning at 7:30 PM, guests will have the chance to hear music, poetry and local lore.

Songwriter and Newtown native Brad Hinton will be in attendance, along with poet Sheleen McElhinney and Brian Boger. Visitors can enjoy dinner and drinks at Triple Sun Spirits, located in the same building as ArtWRKD, beforehand.

Picnics On Pine will be held on Saturday, Sept. 27 in Doylestown. For the fifth year, the event will turn Pine Street into a neighborhood amphitheater. Musical artists Sam & Louise Sullivan and Ms. Honey will be performing.

Food and a craft market will also be available for guests.

Concert at the Commons will be held in October at Broad Commons Park in Doylestown. The free outdoor concert will feature singer Zinadelphia and jazz trumpeter Matt Cappy.

Food trucks and drinks from local businesses will be available to enjoy.

Stage United will also be bringing back “A Night Of Song” at Doylestown’s TileWorks to celebrate America’s semiquincentennial on Nov. 1.
