Located in Quakertown, Last Chance Ranch is a nonprofit animal rescue organization dedicated to saving all kinds of animals in need, reports Erin Coleman for NBC 10 Philadelphia.
The organization takes in a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, hamsters, horses and barnyard animals.
Though they have limited intake, Last Chance Ranch takes in animals from local rescue organizations like ACCT Philly, providing a rehabilitation space for them until they can find them forever homes.
The nonprofit also offers educational programs and seminars throughout the year that seek to educate younger generations on animal care. These include summer camps and riding lessons. They have a variety of educational opportunities for adults and children alike.
This Saturday, Sept. 20, they will be hosting their 26th annual open house event.
“It’s something I look forward to every year. We have a variety of vendors, so you can get some shopping in. We have demos like the Philadelphia Mounted Patrol. We have equine massage. We have dentistry demos, all kinds of different things for people to learn about,” said Jackie Burke, the executive director of Last Chance Ranch.
Families will be able to enjoy kids’ games, pony rides, merchandise, a raffle basket, and an auction, and see the animals up for adoption.
