The Give a Christmas Program is a collaboration between the Bucks County Courier Times, The Intelligencer, and local nonprofits to support needy families.

Give A Christmas raised over $113,000 last year, aiding 2,505 families through vouchers. This program, started in 1958, has amassed more than $5.37 million.

The United Way of Bucks County operates the HELP Center and Fresh Connect farmers markets, focusing on diverse community needs. Their operational expenses are over $5.7 million, with a modest 13 percent allocated to staff compensation.

The Family Service Association of Bucks County runs the region’s only year-round emergency homeless shelter and other critical services. Despite their $9.5 million expenses, a significant portion is dedicated to employee compensation.

Lastly, the Bucks County SPCA, celebrating its 110th anniversary, is dedicated to animal welfare, operating solely on public support. With a budget of $2.8 million, they allocate a substantial part to staff remuneration to maintain their shelters and services.
