Students, teachers and staff members at Bensalem High School gathered last week to celebrate together in preparation for the school year, reports Katherine Scott for 6abc.
“Kids are so excited to be here. Teachers are going to be excited to get back. It’s fall sports, it’s Eagles season. It’s a great time of year,” said Geoff Per, the school’s principal.
Students in the school’s band practiced in the weeks leading up to the celebration to perform for those in attendance.
“I love back to school season because that means football games. You’re excited to be back, you’re excited about your classes. You’re excited about your friends,” said drum major Yasmin Chakrane.
Though the first day of school can be intimidating, the Owl Ambassadors are more than ready to welcome new students.
Throughout the summer, student-athletes have been hard at work, preparing for the upcoming season. Soccer players, the cheer team and the volleyball team have been preparing for the months ahead.
Meanwhile, those in extracurriculars are eager to get back together again. Greeshma Annagowni, a mock trial participant, noted how excited she is to see the club’s progress this year after coming in first at UPenn and placing in the top ten at Yale.
