Almost a year after Paramount Realty and Edgewood Properties bought Neshaminy Mall in Bensalem, the developers are still weighing options for the once bustling shopping center, writes Lacey Latch for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The mall, set on 91 acres with one million square feet of retail space, sold in July 2024 for $27.5 million.
Robert Norkus, executive director of Bensalem’s Economic Development Corporation, said work on the ground is still years away. He met with the developers several times last year, and at that point, they remained in the exploratory phase of the project.
Initial reports following the sale indicated that Uno’s and On the Border, the standalone restaurants in the parking lot, are likely to remain open.
The developers plan to demolish at least 55 percent of the existing mall structure, but they haven’t yet decided what to build in its place.
The project is expected to take over a decade to complete. Norkus believes it will help set the tone for sustained economic recovery throughout the township.
“The development of this Neshaminy property will set a higher standard for the revitalization of Bensalem Township entirely,” he said.
