June is a time to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community, recognizing the progress made toward equal rights and raising awareness about the struggles the community still faces, writes Michele Haddon for the Bucks County Courier Times.
To celebrate Pride Month, Bucks County is hosting several events.
On June 18, TileWorks in Doylestown is having Queer Youth Open Mic, a free outdoor event from 6-8 PM. Attendees can enjoy live music, art, baked goods, and pride merchandise.
The Doylestown Pride Festival Block Party is taking place on East State Street on June 21. Vendors, activities and live music will be present from 11 AM to 4 PM.
On June 22, the County Theater in Doylestown will be holding a screening of Sandi Dubowski’s Sabbath Queen at 1 PM.
Broad Commons Park will be having an outdoor screening of The Birdcage at 8:45 PM on June 24. The County Theater is hosting this event in partnership with Shankweiler’s Drive-In Theatre and Doylestown Pride.
Pride at the Perkasie Farmers Market is taking place on June 28 from 9 AM to 12 PM. Photo opportunities, games, and live music will be featured.
On June 29, The Hattery is hosting Doylestown Dragstravaganza. From 5-7 PM, visitors can stop by to enjoy cocktails and mocktails.
