Téa Vukosavljevic, a Churchville teenager, experiences Disney magic firsthand through the Disney Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando.

Téa Vukosavljevic, a Churchville teenager, got to experience Disney magic firsthand through the Disney Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, writes TaRhonda Thomas for 6abc.

Vukosavljevic was in a group visiting a special part of Disney World on Friday normally closed to everyday visitors. Disney University is where all Walt Disney World careers start and members of Disney Dreamers Academy get first-hand lessons from some of the company’s brightest minds.

Vukosavljevic, a Blair Academy student with a passion for literacy, hopes to one day become a professor.

She noted being especially excited to learn about publishing and communications.

Disney Dreamers Academy provided the perfect start, offering invaluable insight and advice from leaders and Disney Imagineers.

The educational mentorship program brings together 100 kids from across the country for a four-day, all-expenses-paid trip to Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, where they explore careers, network, and envision big futures.

Vukosavljevic has already founded a nonprofit focused on literacy in Philadelphia. The academy gave her a direct connection to some of the most creative minds at Disney, which she hopes to use to fulfill her dreams.

“I hope to stay in Philly, work in Philly, and work with my nonprofit The Reading Trust to raise literacy rates,” she said.
