Democrat Joe Khan, who previously ran for attorney general and Philadelphia district attorney, has launched a campaign bid for district attorney in Bucks County, write Katie Bernard and Vinny Vella for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Khan is hoping to unseat Republican incumbent, Jennifer Schorn, who was appointed in 2024 to finish the term won by Matt Weintraub three years earlier. Weintraub won a race for county judge in 2023.
Khan, a former Bucks County Solicitor, left his county in 2024 to run for Pennsylvania attorney general, finishing third in a five-way primary. During the race, he expanded his statewide and local profile, emphasizing his efforts to protect Bucks County from Trump’s 2020 ballot challenges and pledging to tackle large corporations.
Khan launched his district attorney campaign supported by the Bucks County Democratic Committee.
“Bucks County needs a DA who has a proven track record of fighting crime, corruption, and attacks on our rights,” said Khan. “That’s what I’ve done for 25 years and that’s what I’ll do as our next District Attorney.”
Schorn responded to Khan’s announcement saying the county “will not find a fiercer advocate of victims of crime or of justice” than her.
