The former Solicitor is running for the state's attorney general position.

Former Bucks County Solicitor Joe Khan, a Democrat, announced earlier this week that he plans to run for Pennsylvania attorney general in 2024, writes Emily Rizzo for the WHYY.

The 47-year-old Doylestown native is a former prosecutor in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. He said his plan as the state’s top prosecutor is to tackle corporate and political corruption.

Khan pointed to his work protecting votes in the last presidential election as Bucks County solicitor. During his time in that role, he also joined a national lawsuit against social media giants that accused them of allegedly fueling the youth mental health crisis and defended the authority of the Delaware River Basin Commission to ban fracking.

His legal department sued PFAS manufacturers for contaminating water and soil in Bucks County and advised the county on its allotment of the national opioid abuse settlement from big pharmaceutical companies.

“I was a prosecutor who went after gun violence and sexual assault,” said Khan.
