Bucks County District Attorney Matt Weintraub has announced that he intends to run for county judge. If elected, he will serve the remainder of his term before moving into his new one.

His current position would be filled by First Assistant District Attorney Jen Shorn if he is elected.

Weintraub has overseen several important cases since he was elected. Back in 2019, he oversaw the investigations of the murder of four Bucks County men by Cosmo DiNardo in Solebury Township.

According to the District Attorney’s website, Weintraub has overseen the promotion of the District Court Drug Treatment Program, Bucks County Police Assisting In Recovery, universal Narcan for all law enforcement, and the statewide-leading medication takeback program, among other programs.
