Bob Kelly of FOX 29’s Kelly Drives went behind the scenes at Redhouse Bagels in Bensalem to see how they make their delicious bagels.
The process of creating the tasty breakfast – and sometimes lunch and dinner – food starts with a big mixture.
“We have a plain mix going in right now,” said Richard Redhouse, owner of Redhouse Bagels.
“Plain bagels. We got flour, we got our secret ingredient, and some water. That’s it.”
A 50-pound mix usually makes around 260 bagels. The dough then goes into a machine that divides it and forms into bagels.
These are lined on trays ready for the oven. They are wet down with some water so the ingredients will stick and some get different toppings.
The most popular bagel at Redhouse Bagels is the Everything Bagel but there are plenty of options available.
Watch the entire segment at FOX 29 Philadelphia.
