The Warrington Rite Aid is among several locations in the region up for sale amid the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, writes Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.

In a strategic shift, Rite Aid is not selling the properties themselves but their leases. The Warrington location is among those affected.

The impact of Rite Aid’s financial woes is widespread. Nationally, the company is expected to close a staggering 400 to 500 of its stores. As of November, Rite Aid has put 113 sites on the market.

In Bucks County alone, several Rite Aid stores have been affected. Locations in New Britain, Quakertown, Levittown, and Yardley were shuttered in late 2023.

As Rite Aid continues to reorganize under Chapter 11, the fate of its remaining stores are closely watched.
