As the banking world transforms into a digital platform, Wells Fargo in Bristol is soon closing its doors, writes Jeff Ward for 69 News.

“This is not an easy decision or one we take lightly,” Wells Fargo said in a statement. “Branches continue to play an important role in the way we serve our customers in combination with our online and mobile channels and ATMs.”

The branch will close on Feb. 7. The Wells Fargo in Levittown which is two miles from the Bristol location, will remain open.

The bank may consider merging two older banks into a “better situated” location.

“Doing so does not take away the importance of our customers and the communities we serve,” the bank said.

Earlier this year, Wells Fargo announced the closure of its Washington Crossing location. Other Wells Fargo branches shut down in Allentown, Philadelphia, Chester, and Lansdale.
