Rite Aid is closing 154 stores as part of its Chapter 11 bankruptcy, including three in Bucks County, writes Alex Bitter for the Business Insider.

The drugstore chain, which currently has around 2,100 stores, provided a list of the underperforming locations in a court filing earlier this week. The company was expected to close up to 500 locations.

Rite Aid considered a variety of factors when deciding which stores to close, “including business strategy, lease and rent considerations, local business conditions and viability, and store performance,” said the company.

The Bucks County spots that will be closing are 1080 S. West End Boulevard in Quakertown, 8716 New Falls Road in Levittown, and 657 Heacock Road in Yardley.

According to the company, patients’ prescriptions will be transferred to other pharmacies “so there is no disruption of services.”

“We will also strive to transfer associates to other Rite Aid locations where possible,” the company added.

Overall, 37 of the closing locations are in Pennsylvania.
