The musical act has been active for over 50 years.

Another legendary music group will soon be taking the stage to play their classic hits at a popular venue in lower Bucks County.

Funk legends Parliament-Funkadelic will be performing at Parx Casino, located at 2999 Street Road in Bensalem, on Oct. 27 at 9 PM. The group will perform with longtime frontman George Clinton, regarded as an extremely important figure in funk music.

Originally created through the merging of separate musical acts Parliament and Funkadelic, the group has been active since 1968. Their albums “Maggot Brain” (1971) and “Mothership Connection” (1975) are considered classics of the funk genre, with their song “Give Up the Funk (Tear the Roof off the Sucker)” becoming a major hit.

Many members of the group have gone on to other bands and solo projects, with the reputation of their original band carrying weight in the music industry.

Clinton, who just celebrated his 82nd birthday, has worked with a number of contemporary groups, including the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kendrick Lamar, Snoop Dogg, and many more.
