The tree fell into a local lake, making it a new spot for wildlife.

An act of nature recently felled a longstanding tree in Bucks County, but several animals species are very happy about this.

A recent storm blew over a tree in Yardley, which fell into Lake Afton. The tree has stood beside the lake for a very long time, which has left many in the community sad about the new look to the lake.

On the bright side, inhabitants of the lake are loving the new addition to the water, with many turtles using it to sunbath this summer.

“One of the big sycamore trees on the north side of Lake Afton fell during the storms,” the Yardley Historical Association wrote online. “Can you find the turtles that found this new place to bask?”

The historical association operates out of the Old Library, which sits alongside the lake. The library “maintains a collection of primary and secondary materials, including maps, photographs, newspapers, letters, deeds, and ephemera, related to the Yardley area.”
