Leave the microwaves empty and don’t bother setting the table. Your lunches and dinners can be outsourced. It’s time for the 2021 edition of Yardley Restaurant Week. Jeff Werner previewed the culinary carnival for the Bucks Local News.

Yardley’s 2021 food-a-palooza, organized by Experience Yardley, runs August 16-22 in the borough’s downtown district. More than 20 restaurants are participating, from new spots in town (Eliyahu’s Yardley Pizza) to established favorites (Canal Street Grill).

Adding a different spin this year is a chef’s challenge from Experience Yardley. They’ve asked the kitchen magicians to concoct and promote at least one hometown-themed dish or drink.

Restaurant Week comes at a time when Yardley’s restaurant scene is booming.

“It’s exciting to see more and more restaurants opening up in Yardley. And what’s more exciting is that they are local, family-owned businesses,” said David Applebaum, president of Experience Yardley. “So when you come to Yardley you’re supporting local,” he said.

“This benefits not only the restaurants, but also the community bringing people here to shop, to eat and to enjoy our beautiful surroundings with Lake Afton, the Delaware River and the historic Delaware Canal,” Appelbaum concluded.

More on Yardley Restaurant Week, including a more extensive list of participating kitchens, is at the Bucks Local News.
