A recent art auction at a Bucks County library left many with something to bring home, even a picture of their home from the 1950s.

The Yardley Historical Association, headquartered at the Old Library at Lake Afton in Yardley, recently held their “Quintessential Yardley” art show and sale. Held inside the historic library, the event offered art pieces the depicted the area as interpreted by local artists through gorgeous paintings.

Some of the pieces that were bid and sold included framed pictures of the township and borough from an aerial view. The images where created in the late-1940s and early 1950s.

“And a very special thank you to the family of T. Sidney and Carolyn Cadwallader who contributed the collection that made this community event and fundraiser for the Old Library possible,” the association said online.

The library regularly hosts events like these, where both locals and residents can learn more abut the area and the rich history therein.
