Council Rock North Grad Surprises Grandparents with Tickets to See the Phillies at the World Series

The Upper Makefield man got his grandparents tickets to see their favorite sports team.

A graduate of Council Rock High School North recently surprised his grandparents with tickets to one of the biggest games of the year. Michele Haddon wrote about the generous gift in the Bucks County Courier Times.

Rob Ranelli, a resident of Upper Makefield, told his grandparents that he was giving them the gift of a lifetime over a video chat. Howard and Anita Guarini, who live in Pottstown, were told that they would be seeing their beloved Philadelphia Phillies play in the World Series.

“Get your jerseys ready. We’ve got a big Monday night,” Ranelli told his grandparents over a FaceTime call.

Ranelli and his grandparents have held a special bound through the baseball team for some time. In 2008, the took him to see the team, which started his love of that game. Now, they get to watch their team play in the World Series.

“It makes me teary,” his grandmother said. “I don’t know if I have the words.”
