Several Bucks County businesses and establishments are collecting unused medications as part of a national safety initiative this weekend. Ed Doyle wrote about the take-back locations for TAP into Doylestown.

If you were looking to clean out your medicine cabinet and get rid of your unused medication in a safe way, then National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is the perfect time to do it.

On Oct. 29, there will be around 50 locations in Bucks County that will accept a variety of medications to ensure that they do not fall into the wrong hands or to make sure they are not disposed of improperly.

The drop-off locations will be open from 10 AM – 2 PM. During those times, they will be accepting most forms of prescription and over-the-counter medications, including tablets, capsules, patches, sprays, and creams.

Residents can also hand over pet medications as well as inhalers and vapes; used sharps will be accepted at some locations. Items that will not be accepted include illegal drugs, thermometers, and aerosol cans.

Among the Doylestown locations are Doylestown Hospital and Weis Markets on Old Dublin Pike.
