The orchestra for a Bucks county high school was recently selected to perform at a well-respected and revered music conference.

Council Rock High School South’s orchestra was recently chosen to perform at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association’s Annual Conference in Hamburg, Pennsylvania. The conference will be held from April 20 to April 22 of 2023 in the Poconos.

The Holland high school was one of 90 applicants to perform at the conference. Their performance will be held on the first day of the event.

“The Orchestra is 93-member strong and will be busy preparing great music for a number of performances this year,” the school’s official website reads. “Our members are part of a dedicated, fun, and hard-working group who have grown together into an amazing ensemble.”

The Pennsylvania Music Educators Association (PMEA) has been active since 1933.

“Today, the organization includes those engaged in music instruction at all levels, from preschool through college and university, as well as those in the music industry, merchandising and publishing,” the association said on their website.
