The beloved Bucks County borough, New Hope, praised for its scenic and artsy atmosphere, has placed on two lists from USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.
The Delaware River waterfront town came in No. 5 on the “Best Small Town in the Northeast” list and No. 7 in “Best Small Town Culture Scene.”
New Hope has been an artistic hub for decades, with a lively theater community thanks to the Bucks County Playhouse. Countless acclaimed actors and actresses have appeared on the stage, including Dick Van Dyke, Robert Redford, Rob Reiner, and Grace Kelly.
With historic place like the New Hope Railroad and art galleries on Main Street, there’s lots to explore. John and Peter’s, one of the borough’s iconic dive bars for over 40 years, has hosted countless musicians along with several other local spots.
New Hope boasts a variety of unique stores and boutiques that are sure to catch any tourist’s eye, while a range of pubs and fine dining establishments offer plenty of tasty cuisine to try.
The Delaware Canal Towpath Trail is the perfect spot to enjoy a leisurely stroll, with lots of other fun outdoor activities to check out.
Located just an hour from Philadelphia and an hour and a half from New York, New Hope is a must-visit Pennsylvania town.
