One of Bucks County’s oldest continuously operated inns, the Langhorne Hotel, has operated as usual despite being listed for sale for over three years, writes Lacey Latch for the Bucks County Courier Times.
Since 1704, the popular local hangout, which was purchased by the Asta family in 1972, has stood at the corner of Maple and Bellevue Avenues.
When the space was first purchased by the family, the bar and small front dining area underwent renovations. In the process, the inn’s signature arched walk-in fireplace was revealed, which has since become a focal point of the first floor.
According to owner Ben Asta, the Langhorne Hotel is under contract and has slowly progressed through the sales process. Until the sale is finalized, the Astas will operate the property.
With the MLB All-Star Game, America’s 250th birthday, and the FIFA World Cup this spring and summer, tourism is expected to soar, bringing lots of business to the greater Philadelphia area.
“Everything’s pretty much the same. We still own it and we’re not going anywhere anytime soon,” Asta said. “It’s under contract, but it’s not written in stone.”
