Bensalem Township Zoning Hearing Board will hear a proposal to replace an existing lodge on Old Lincoln Highway with a Hilton Hotel.

This week, the Bensalem Township Zoning Hearing Board will hear a proposal to replace an existing lodge on Old Lincoln Highway with a Hilton Hotel, writes Dino Ciliberti for the Patch.

The zoning hearing board meeting will take place on Thursday in the Council Chambers of the Bensalem Township Municipal Building.

Purvi LLC of Langhorne will continue its hearing to request setbacks, lot size, parking, and use variance to allow for the reconstruction of the existing hotel into a Hilton Hotel and quick service restaurant.

The Lincoln Hotel is located on a 4.63-acre site at 2277 Old Lincoln Highway.

The plans filed with the zoning hearing board call for a restaurant with a drive-thru and a five-story Hilton Hotel, along with 197 parking spaces.

In addition to the existing hotel, the proposed businesses would also replace an auto sales business on the property.

According to the application, the new higher-end hotel would be beneficial for the township and would not harm the surrounding areas.
