Bristol’s Mill Street has become home to numerous new shops and restaurants that, together with long-time favorites, are making the borough a rising hot spot, writes Victor Fiorillo for Philadelphia Magazine.
The sprawling new Shops on Mill marketplace is filled with local vendors offering everything from one-of-a-kind Philly sports clothing and paraphernalia to laser-engraved custom purses and specialty foods. Nearby, Collectors Corner and Bristol Antiques Market, at the corner of Mill and Pond, are excellent spots to hunt for antiques and vintage finds.
Drift, which recently opened, is known for its affordable and tasty $12 lunch menu, while the Forager attracts cheese enthusiasts from across the area. Itri specializes in wood-fired pizzas, and Daddy Tom’s, a self-professed speakeasy, is a lively neighborhood gathering place. Jules at Market provides fine dining with its seafood-focused menu, and Calm Waters Coffee offers a welcoming stop for a quality cup of coffee.
Visitors can find plant-based prepared foods and fresh-pressed juices at Terra Cotta Green Market, while Dad’s Hat Distillery pours its award-winning rye. Bristol Books & Bindery, known for new, used, and rare books, Players Only Arcade, filled with nostalgic and modern arcade games, and Bristol Waterfront Park complete the Bristol experience.
