Lahaska’s Peddler’s Village is a Storybook-Inspired Shopping Destination

Peddler’s Village in Lahaska offers visitors a shopping experience out of a fairytale, with restaurants, shops, cafes, and more to explore.

Located halfway between Allentown and Philadelphia, Peddler’s Village in Lahaska is a collection of stores that provides a charming shopping experience in a storybook-style setup, writes Kira Reinke for Islands.

This tourist destination and local favorite was opened in the 1960s by farmer Earl Jamison, who was inspired by Carmel-by-the-Sea’s architecture in California.

Every year, nearly two million shoppers visit the village’s more than 40 acres of restaurants, cafes, and small businesses with picturesque views.

From big events like the summertime BBQ Bash and the festive lights at Christmas to family spots like the Giggleberry Fair indoor amusement park, there’s lots to explore in the area.

Visitors can check out Artisans Gallery for pieces created by local artists, Skip’s Candy Corner for delicious sweets, and Pine Wreath & Candle, which is one of the oldest shops in the village.

Those looking for unique gifts can find Irish sweaters and Celtic jewelry in The Celtic Rose and authentic German cuckoo clocks in Fehrenbach Black Forest Clocks & German Gifts

There’s an abundance of options for food and drinks. Hart’s Tavern offers a cozy ambiance with a menu filled with tavern classics, while Fizzy Mama is a tasty soda shop also serving milkshakes and smoothies.

Extend your visit and stay for a few days at the Golden Plough Inn in the heart of the village, with 67 rooms and suites available.
