Where you live can have an impact on your ability to find a romantic partner, and according to a recent study, Pennsylvania was ranked in the top ten best states for singles, writes Adam McCann for WalletHub.
WalletHub compared all 50 states across 29 metrics to help determine how easy or difficult it is to find a romantic connection.
“The best states for singles are those that have strong economies while also providing a wide range of places to host dates. They also tend to have populations with higher concentrations of single people, a relatively even gender balance among singles, and people who are actively interested in dating based on their online searches,” said WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo.
States were ranked based on a variety of metrics falling under the categories of Dating Opportunities, Dating Economics, and Romance & Fun on a 100-point scale.
Pennsylvania was ranked overall No. 7, with a score of 59.20.
The Keystone State ranked No. 7 in Dating Opportunities, No. 45 in Dating Economics, and No. 6 in Romance & Fun.
Pennsylvania ranked above average in metrics like Gender Balance of Singles (No. 12), Percentage of Single Adults (No. 19), Restaurants per Capita (No. 7), Movie Theaters per Capita (No. 11), and Crime Rate (No. 15). It ranked just slightly below average for Median Annual Household Income, placing at No. 28.
