On Saturday, Feb. 28, at 7 PM, head to Newtown’s ArtWRKD Exhibition Space above Triple Sun Spirits to watch local storytellers perform at this month’s SPEAKeasy event.
SPEAKeasy is a collaborative event organized and co-hosted by gallerist and curator of ArtWRKD, Ashara Shapiro, and founder of Stage United, Joe Montone.
Headlining the event is Philadelphia local and songwriter Sug Daniels, with her colorful blend of rock, folk, and soul. Her music centers around themes of positive change and truth.
Daniels’s self-released debut album, I Believe in You, came out in September 2025.
Doylestown’s Clint Flack, a collector and history aficionado, is the featured storyteller of the evening. He currently works as an Exhibit Specialist at the Mercer Museum, joining their team in 2020.
With a robust knowledge of the Doan Gang, Flack has collaborated with local and national producers on documentaries, most recently on the Discovery Channel’s Expedition Unknown.
Lynn Fanok, a Newtown poet and runner-up in the 2025 Bucks County Poet Laureate Contest, is kicking off the event. She’s released two books of poetry: Bread and Fumes and The Weeds.
Her first collection describes her late father, a WWII Nazi labor camp survivor, and explores her own Ukrainian background. Her second work discusses childhood friendships and loss, natural disasters, and restoration.
