Five Local Nonprofits Receive $100K from Doylestown’s Fred Beans Family

The Fred Beans Family Foundation is distributing a $100,000 donation to five nonprofit organizations based in Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

The Fred Beans Family Foundation recently distributed a donation of $100,000 to five nonprofits in the communities where Fred Beans Automotive Group operates, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.

The Abington Police Athletic League, Bucks County Opportunity Council, Bucks County Free Library, Twilight Wish Foundation, and The Next Step Programs were the recipients of the 2025 end-of-year donations.

The foundation was created by Fred Beans’ family and is currently overseen by Beans’ 10 grandchildren. His grandchildren have researched and selected recipients for the donations for the past three years.

“We always aim to give back locally, because we are grateful to the communities that have welcomed our family business and helped it succeed; this is a way to share that gratitude,” said Alexandra Gilbert, the oldest daughter of Chris Gilbert and Beth Beans Gilbert.

While some of the grandchildren no longer live in the area, they remain connected to local businesses and people with ties to the company.

“He instilled in all of us the importance of giving back, so we consider it a great responsibility and privilege to oversee the Foundation and ensure that we are able to continue helping others on behalf of our grandfather and our entire family,” said Lauren Murray Soverino, Barbara Beans’ daughter.
