Fred Beans Automotive Group pledged to donate $500,000 last year through the Pennsylvania Educational Improvement Tax Credit Program, and is currently distributing that funding to local recipients, writes Jeff Werner for the Patch.

Over the years, the company has contributed a total of $3.5 million through the program to local organizations that focus on providing scholarships, educational services, and innovative school programs.

Beth Beans Gilbert, vice president of Fred Beans Automotive Group, noted that the company has been participating in the Pennsylvania EITC Program since 2011. It prides itself on leveraging the opportunity to redirect funding and support various education-related organizations and initiatives.

The Heritage Conservancy, specializing in natural resource protection and historical preservation, is a repeat beneficiary of the company’s EITC Program funding. The nonprofit received $50,000 from the automotive group this year.

“With this gift, we are able to support even more students in their learning about the local environment through hands-on programming and outdoor experiences,” said Shannon Fredebaugh-Siller, Heritage Conservancy community engagement programs manager.

Bucks County Children’s Museum, Mercer Museum, Council Rock Education Foundation, Hepatitis B Foundation, and Bucks County Community College Foundation are also among this year’s recipients, among others.
