Newtown Theatre Announces Family Series Lineup Brimming with Magic and More

The Newtown Theatre will be hosting its Family Series events monthly, beginning on Jan. 9, featuring musical performances, magic acts, and more.

The Newtown Theatre is kicking off the New Year with a variety of family-friendly events and concerts with its upcoming Family Series, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.

On Friday, Jan. 9, at 8 PM, magician and musical illusionist Chris Funk will be giving a magical performance.

Appearing on NBC’s America’s Got Talent and Syfy’s Wizard Wars, Funk masterfully blends music and illusions, with dancing music sheets, floating instruments, and more.

On Feb. 22 at 3 PM, the theatre is hosting “Disney Hits Live” with the talented cover band, The Little Mermen. Enjoy music through the decades, with classics from your favorite Disney films, and band members dressed as iconic characters.

“Mad Science Returns” is back on March 22 at 3 PM, featuring chemical reactions, dazzling experiments, audience participation, and more. Adults and children three and up can enjoy this educational and entertaining event.

On Sunday, April 26, at 3 PM, “David Darwin the One-Man Sideshow” will be performing at the theatre. A master of circus arts, Darwin’s shows feature comedy juggling, balancing chairs on his face, and sword swallowing.

Tickets for the events can be purchased on the Newtown Theatre’s website.
