The Newtown Theatre, located at 120 N. State Street in Newtown, will welcome The Teddy Bear Band to its stage on Aug. 18 at 8 PM.

Formed in 2002 for Teddy Pendergrass’s comeback tour, The Teddy Bear Band features Bill and Brett Jolly on keys and bass, Rob Landham on sax, Johnnie Croom on percussion, and long-time guitarist Wawa LeGrand, the lone holdover from Teddy’s original Teddy Bear Orchestra.

Today, The Teddy Bear Band has reformed to celebrate that legendary 2002 tour and the music of the late, great Teddy Pendergrass. The band has added lead singer Don Connor, who embodies both Teddy’s voice and vibe.

Tickets are available at The Newtown Theatre for $40 per person or $35 for theatre members. A limited number of VIP tickets will be sold for $60 per person. VIP ticketholders receive prime seats and a pre-concert meet-and-greet with the band.

Beer, wine, and canned cocktails will be available for purchase at the theatre before and during the show.
