This is a big year for foodies in Newtown, with the expansion of Newtown Bagel and Vecchia Osteria, and the opening of a new pizzeria, writes Jeff Werner for Patch.
Doylestown’s Lucatelli’s announced in 2025 its plans to open a new location at the Village at Newtown South Shopping Center near the Wendy’s.
The owner, David Schiano, discussed how excited he was to expand the company into the Newtown community.
Lucatelli’s is renowned for its hot sandwiches, pizza, and delicious vodka sauce.
“Our goal is always to bring the freshest and best quality ingredients to our food as we strive to be that next level pizzeria,” Schiano said. “While others are using frozen products, we’re giving you the best and freshest food daily.”
Some of its most popular pies include the Bova and Margherita. The Italian eatery’s selection of Grandma pizzas is also widely loved, including the Burrata Pepperoni, Drunken Grandma, Grandma MVP, and Grandma Capri.
For sandwich lovers, check out the Vodka Parm Sandwich, Phillies Red Hot-Tober sandwich, Drunken Chicken, Hot Lucatelli Cutlet, and Roast Pork Sandwich.
Its cheesesteaks were also declared winners of Best of Bucks in 2024.
