New Musical ‘Starstruck’ to Make World Premiere at Bucks County Playhouse

A new musical “Starstruck” is making its world debut at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, running from Feb. 20 to March 21 next year.

“Starstruck,” a new musical directed and choreographed by Lorin Latarro, is making its world premiere at the Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, writes Michael Abourizk for Broadway News.

Previews of the musical will begin on Feb. 20, 2026, and opening night is Feb. 28. It will run through March 21.

Starstruck” is a modern retelling of Cyrano de Bergerac written by Beth Malone and Mary Ann Stratton

The story takes place in Sawtooth, Idaho, and centers on Cyd DeBerg as she tries to create the United States’ first International Dark Sky Reserve.

Her attempts draw the attention of her nemesis, JD, and National Public Radio journalist Roxanne Cooley, leading to a love triangle.

“‘Starstruck’ has rhythm, humor and heart—and the Playhouse is the perfect launchpad,” said Latarro. “I’m so happy to be back at Bucks County Playhouse, where I first began directing.”

Latarro previously directed “A Taste of Things to Come” at the Playhouse in 2016. She’s performed in nearly a dozen Broadway shows and has choreographed several recent productions.

Emily Saliers of the folk-rock duo, Indigo Girls, created the score for the musical.

“Nearly 40 years ago, my best friend Beth Malone and I shared a tiny apartment where the Indigo Girls played on repeat. Now, we are writing a musical with the legendary Emily Saliers, and it feels like gravity has lost its hold—my feet aren’t quite touching the ground,” said Stratton.
