This year, New Hope’s Bucks County Playhouse is debuting its new performance series, Women of Note, highlighting female artists with unique styles, writes A.A. Cristi for Broadway World.
Two performances have been announced for this year: Meow Meow at 7:30 PM on March 28 and Storm Large at 7:30 PM on May 30.
Meow Meow, named one of the “Top Performers of the Year” by The New Yorker, is best known for her genre-defying performances that have sold out in venues around the world.
Storm Large rose to fame in 2006 during her appearance on CBS’s Rock Star: Supernova. She later appeared on America’s Got Talent in 2021, earning a dedicated international following through the years.
The performances will take place on the Playhouse’s mainstage, with tickets ranging from $44 to $79.
“Women of Note is about spotlighting artists who feel both of the moment and timeless,” said Playhouse board member Mitch Berlin.
“Meow Meow and Storm Large are the perfect artists to launch this new series: each blends high-art musicality with an irreverent humor that transforms cabaret into unpredictable, immersive experiences,” said Producing Director Alexander Fraser. “Women of Note gives us a chance to curate a new program that we hope attracts both new and loyal audiences eager for something new.”
