At Conshohocken’s historic Spring Mill complex, ZeroEyes is proving that military service doesn’t end when the uniform comes off.
The AI gun-detection company was co-founded by former Navy SEALs and is powered by roughly 75 percent veterans. The team is all united by a familiar mission: protect others before tragedy strikes.
The idea was born in the aftermath of the Parkland school shooting. Co-founder and COO Rob Huberty and fellow veterans had successful careers after the military, but felt a calling to serve a greater purpose. When they saw surveillance footage of Parkland and saw that the gun was visible well before shots were fired, they asked, “How did nobody see it?” The sad truth was that, despite all the surveillance, there wasn’t anyone dedicated to monitoring it. And the idea for ZeroEyes was born.
Today, their technology monitors security cameras in real time, detecting visible guns and alerting human analysts so schools, transit systems, malls, and public venues can act before it’s too late.
Inside ZeroEyes’ Conshohocken headquarters, the veteran imprint is everywhere: flags from every branch, repurposed ship bells, watch-floor style monitoring stations, and quiet reminders of sacrifice and service. But it’s the culture, not the décor, that defines the place.

“There’s something that veterans do,” Huberty told American Community Journals. “They just volunteer for whatever it is. They’re not flawless people, but they’re just people who, more than average, say ‘yeah, I’ll help.” The ‘i’ becomes a ‘we’ really quick with veterans.
ZeroEyes hires across branches and backgrounds, from special operations to Marines running overseas operations centers. One teammate recently joined the Coast Guard after coming aboard. Many arrive without formal tech experience, but with proven leadership under pressure, skills the company channels into modern security work that still feels grounded in service.
As Veterans Day approaches, ZeroEyes stands as a Montgomery County story about what comes next. There, veterans transform battlefield-tested vigilance into life-saving innovation at home, and find a new way to serve in the process.
