Bucks County military enlistees were honored on Wednesday night during a ceremony organized by Our Community Serves at Brookside Manor in Feasterville, writes Liv DeMarco for the Broad and Liberty.

The enlistees were joined by their family, friends, and community members to celebrate their commitment to enter military service.

The guest speaker was David McCormick, combat veteran of the 82nd Airborne and former U.S. Senate candidate. A speech entitled “How I Feel About My Enlisted Child” by Jenny Mars, a Blue Star Mom, was also read during the ceremony.

Kenneth J. Sylvester, ACS Chaplain, U.S. Coast Guard, gave the invocation, while Cadet Gianna Mars performed the national anthem. The event’s master of ceremonies was SSgt. David Jacoby, Air National Guard.

“I believe very deeply that our military is a key part of what’s right about America – it’s one of the few institutions nowadays that people still trust,” said McCormick. “All of you, in this moment of challenge, have stepped up.”

Each enlistee received a Certificate of Recognition from Our Community Salutes and a pocket guide of the U.S. Constitution. They were also presented with gifts from supportive sponsors.
