Quakertown’s Sabrina Carpenter Starring in 50th Anniversary Muppet Show Special

Bucks County’s Sabrina Carpenter will be starring in “The Muppet Show” 50th anniversary special next year.

The Muppet Show” is returning for a 50th anniversary special in 2026, and Quakertown’s Sabrina Carpenter will be making an appearance, writes Emily Bloch for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

There’s been some speculation over what the special may include, whether it’s a rendition of Carpenter’s “Espresso” by Miss Piggy or Carpenter and Piggy fighting over Kermit. Perhaps the singer will bond with Pepé the King Prawn, who also has a connection to Bucks County, over their heights.

This isn’t Carpenter’s first time working with a Muppet. Her musical career has its roots in Citizens Bank Park, where she sang “God Bless America” when she was 13. At that same game, Philadelphia’s own Phillie Phanatic was getting fans excited from the field.

The Phanatic was created by puppet-maker Bonnie Erickson in 1978, who also created Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Waldorf and Statler.

Carpenter’s love for the Philly area is well-documented. The artist even wore a bedazzled Phillies jersey during her Philly stop on her Short n’ Sweet tour last year.

The singer has also talked about how much she adores the Muppets franchise and calls this upcoming special a “career-defining” moment. According to Deadline, Kermit was her favorite Hollywood date.

The special will be available on Disney+.
