Quakertown’s Sabrina Carpenter partnered with West Philly’s Colman Domingo in a music video for her recent album’s single, “Tears,” writes Dan DeLuca for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The music video was led by Bardia Zeinali, who also directed the Bucks County-born artist’s “Please Please Please” video, a hit from her “Short n’ Sweet” album.
The video begins with Carpenter waking up in a field after getting into a car accident with her boyfriend. She sees what appears to be an abandoned home and steps inside to find Domingo, dressed in a drag look inspired by Tim Curry’s Frank-N-Furter from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show.”
Carpenter parties with drag queens in the house as she sings about the most attractive things a man can do. According to the singer, communication, doing the dishes and assembling IKEA furniture are among the most satisfying things.
“Tears,” from her “Man’s Best Friend” album, pays homage to the disco genre and singer and songwriter Donna Summer.
While Carpenter won’t be stopping in Philly on her upcoming tour, she will be performing at New York’s Madison Square Garden this October.
