Bristol Township Council Approves Plan to Build $500K Homes in Croydon

The Bristol Township Council approved the plan to build seven houses at 1020 Anne Street in Croydon.

The Bristol Township Council has approved the plan to build seven houses at 1020 Anne Street in Croydon, allowing the project to proceed to the construction phase, writes JD Mullane for the Bucks County Courier Times.

A Levittown builder will develop single-family, four-bedroom, three-bath houses spanning 1,800 square feet and priced around $495,000, a range realtors call the “sweet spot” for home prices in Lower Bucks County.

Troy Brennan, of New Horizon Property Management, said that high house prices have not slowed down the building and selling process in Lower Bucks, once a starter home community.

“I just built one on Third Avenue (in Croydon) that sold in 48 hours,” he said. “It’s weird saying $500,000 is the price point of affordability.”

Brennan also has a ten-home project currently underway in Newportville, Bristol Township.

“I have three of them under contract and I didn’t even put them on the market yet,” Brennan said. “The numbers are just out of control, but people are still buying.”

His latest development is in a flood zone, but he plans to elevate the site with soil to raise the homes at least 18 inches above the designated flood level.
