Grand View Health, the last independent hospital system in Bucks County, joined St. Luke’s University Health Network less than a year after beginning discussions on a partnership, writes John George for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The deal follows closely after Doylestown Health, another independent Bucks County health system, joined the University of Pennsylvania Health System in April.
With the latest partnership, all six acute care hospitals in Bucks County are now part of larger health systems.
The deal is not a merger but structured as a member substitution. It makes the 194-bed hospital in Sellersville the 16th campus of Bethlehem-based St. Luke’s.
The financial details remain confidential.
“Grand View and St. Luke’s are an exceptional match for one another,” said Rick Anderson, CEO of St. Luke’s. “Grand View, like St. Luke’s, is committed to clinical excellence, has a similar culture and enjoys a long history of providing compassionate care to its community.”
CEO Doug Hughes will continue as president of the St. Luke’s Grand View Campus and will report to Joel Fagerstrom, St. Luke’s executive vice president and chief operating officer.
