A black bear in Bucks County was recently caught by the Warminster Township Police Department and the Pennsylvania Game Commission.

A black bear in Bucks County, seen making its way through Warminster, was caught by authorities last week, writes staff at 6abc.

Locals called the police after the bear was seen near Evergreen Avenue and Juniper Street near the Speedway section of the area.

The Pennsylvania Game Commission was contacted to assist local police.

The black bear was seen and captured in a backyard on Olive Street in the 300 block. Officials managed to apprehend the bear peacefully.

“The bear will be relocated to a more conducive location for his growth and prosperity,” the Warminster Township Police Department wrote in a Facebook post.

It’s not uncommon for black bears to find their way into the area. Sightings have been reported in every Pennsylvania county.

These bears are often spotted in the area as they search for a suitable habitat. However, much of Southeastern Pennsylvania lacks the environment they need.
